Covers/Bottoms are used in numerous applications. Church Metal does not supply PVQ certified heads, but our Customers use spun metal parts to make product storage or product processing vessels. Covers/bottoms are used to make storage containers – industrial food processing, electrical power hardware, transport tank covers, process man covers.
Church Metal makes these parts from low carbon steel, A36 steel, 304 and 316 stainless steel up to 1/4” (6mm) thick. We spin this style of part up to 40” (1,000mm) in diameter.
Spun covers and bottoms are used in place of other methods of head making to gain tighter tolerances parts, unique joggle or edge features, low volume light gage (where stamping tooling would be prohibitive) or other non-standard head features.
